What Are Special Purpose Trucks?

Special purpose trucks (also called special vehicles) are built on a standard heavy chassis with a dedicated upper structure. Each one does one specific job: lifting, mixing, cooling, spraying, towing or carrying liquids. They power municipal projects, mining sites, construction and logistics across Africa.

All units in our yard use proven Chinese chassis from HOWO, Shacman, Dongfeng and FAW, fitted with reliable upper structures from XCMG, Sany, Zoomlion and Chengli. That combination keeps parts available and repair costs low in African markets.

Our Experience — Exporting Special Trucks Since 2015

We started exporting used trucks from Shijiazhuang, Hebei in 2015. Special purpose vehicles quickly became a steady part of our business. Municipal buyers in Nigeria and Ghana order water sprinklers and garbage compactors. Mining contractors in Zambia and Tanzania take crane trucks and mixers. Logistics companies across East Africa run refrigerated units for food and pharma.

Every unit we ship passes a full mechanical inspection, test drive and cleaning before loading. We provide the full document set: Bill of Lading, certificate of origin, and export customs clearance. Delivery to most African ports takes 20–35 days. We ship via RORO or container from Tianjin, Shanghai or Qingdao.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest special purpose truck to import from China?

Concrete mixers are typically the most affordable, starting around $9,500 FOB for a 2017 6×4 unit. Refrigerated and crane trucks cost more because of the upper structure.

How long does shipping take from China to Africa?

Usually 20–35 days from Tianjin, Shanghai or Qingdao to major African ports, plus 5–10 days for inspection and export documentation before departure.

Can I inspect the truck before paying?

Yes, always. We do live video inspection via WhatsApp so you see the actual truck, hear the engine run and watch the upper structure work. Third-party inspection is welcome too.

Which chassis brand is best for special purpose trucks in Africa?

HOWO and Shacman have the strongest parts supply in most African countries. Dongfeng and FAW are good value alternatives with a thinner but growing parts network.
