How to Choose Your Import Route
- Left- vs right-hand drive: most of West and Central Africa drives on the left of the wheel (LHD), while Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa need RHD. This single choice narrows your options fast.
- Age limits: many markets cap the age of imported trucks. Confirm the rule for your country before you shortlist a unit.
- Pre-shipment inspection: Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana require inspection or conformity assessment in the export country. We arrange this before the truck leaves China.
- Landlocked markets: Zambia, Ethiopia and Uganda clear in a neighbouring port and move inland by road, which adds 5 – 10 days and local transport cost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which country is easiest to import used trucks into?
The UAE is the simplest – 12 to 16 days from China, low duty and no pre-shipment inspection. Nigeria and Ghana are the highest-volume markets but need conformity assessment.
Can you ship to a landlocked country?
Yes. We quote CIF to the port of entry (for example Dar es Salaam for Zambia, or Djibouti for Ethiopia) and your agent moves the truck inland.
Do you supply right-hand drive trucks?
Yes. We supply both LHD and RHD units and can arrange steering conversion where a market requires it.
