What to Check on a Used Great Wall Pickup
- Turbo and intercooler — a whistling or oil-fouled turbo is the most common fault on high-mileage GW4D20 diesels.
- Clutch and 4WD transfer case — test 2H, 4H and 4L on video; a failing transfer case is expensive to source outside China.
- Bed and chassis — look under the bed liner for rust and panel repairs, then check the chassis for kinks.

Is a Great Wall Wingle a good work pickup?
Yes, for light and medium duty. A Wingle 5 or Wingle 7 handles tools, fuel drums and farm loads well on partly sealed roads, and its parts are easier to find across Africa than most Chinese pickups of the same age.
What is the difference between the Wingle and the Poer?
The Wingle 5, 6 and 7 are the older, simpler work trucks, while the Poer (also sold as the Cannon) is the newer, larger platform with more power and comfort. The Poer costs more but carries a heavier payload and tows more.
Can I ship one pickup, or is there a minimum order?
